I see a pair of lamps for my livin room and maybe a few hangin in my game room if we ever get it finished. Other than that I have no idea what I am gonna do with them. There's 21 in all, and some are in good shape, others not so good. But all in good'nuff shape to use for craft projects..Now I just gotta figure out what? LOL

The lamp idea is a neat one. Lots of aged texture to them.
Are they still covered with leather or is it all plastic. Could you partially fuse them with heat just enough that they're still identifiable?
Course what would you do with them then? a hat rack?

They are wood, covered with raw hide. I'm just gettin started on ideas on how to join them together. Prolly be trial and error till I get it figured out.....Can't wait to go to the store and buy the lamp makin supplies and get started.
There's very little leather on them. All that's there is lil strips that were left on after all the other was stripped off them.

Hold on LILLY...............................That's not lamp material......you can start practicing saddle building..............by correspondance with Jinglebob if necessary!!!!!!! Just think if you persevere and get good you won't have to go "prison" to get new boots

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

LOL but....but.....I like my "prison" boots.

I've tooled one saddle, and then Mr Lilly and I put it together for Lil Lilly. Don't know if I'm ready to tackle a project like that again any time soon. It was fun tho. Alot of these I don't think would be good to build a saddle on now. They look like when they had leather on em, that they had been repaired lotssss of times.

Lilly....

How about a flower planter? Somehow put a pot between them? I don't know, I don't have a lick of talent in this stuff...But I bet you come up with something great!

Cheers---

TTB

LOL! Good idea! Your dad in law is always "thinking out of the box" in such unexplicable ways- he's bound to come up with an original  something-or-other.

Lilly, Decoupage a weatern picture on the seat and use it to hang on the wall....Say like a oldtime cowboy on a bucking bronc.. Drill hangers on the endside and run a wire to hang.......

IN the house in town I have that leather look paint on my heat and cooling grills in the living room, I have a weatern theme... And they turned out really cool... Lilly I was going to do that to an old saddle I have in the barn and haven't had time... So I even have the pictures if you want I will send them to you to use....I will never get to it.......

That does sound neat, if there was a "seat" but all there is there is tha bare tree. with the opening in the middle and the two bars from the swell to the cantle where your stirrup straps go thru. I found a picture of a lamp online last night made out of one........

saddletreelamp.jpg

not quite what I was thinkin, but since two put together would be awfully big for a table top.......I may go with this ......

Sorry Lilly. I love all the other things you have shown us. This, however, in my opinion is ugly. Sorry!

Might make a great conversation piece tho...

I gotta agree with what cowsense said..............use em for what they were made for, or sell them to some saddle maker and make yourself some moola! Of course, ya can keep a couple of them for your lamps, and a few for hanging on the wall........
