From what I can gather, they all came from up south of Eagle Butte. At least the ones who they drove to Ft Pierre for the movie. The guy who told me about it was a young man and went along and was paid so much a bronc ride. Casey had been running horses on this fella's mothers place. He wrote her a check for the grass as he hadn't paid her in quite awhile. The check bounced. She never ran it thru' another time. so still had it when they started building the Casey Tibbs center in Ft Pierre and were asking people to donate anything that came from Casey. He said to me, "Wonder if they'd like that check?"
