I'm looking for one, and if I cant find one to my liking I will either go to Fall Fair or Agribition and buy one there.... I got a bit of a bonus for running the combines so dad gave me the equilivant of 5 acres of canola and I sold it.... so Im going to really give the big boys a run for their dinero's lol.

I think you are approaching this the wrong way. You are just wasting money if you are trying to buy your way in. You should be proud of what you have and just do the best you can with what you have and be proud of what you accomplish. If you start chasing rainbows you will be forever running over the yonder hill.

I agree with you cowboyup. Money doesn't make one any good anyway. Just go find a good one on the farm or at the neighbors.

Cowboyup-Ive been saving all my extra money for years since I started so I could buy a "fancy show steer". Ive never been able to place high in the steer classes, but this year, Im going all out-A once in a lifetime thing. Im proud of our stock, thats why I show at least one of our own animals for 4H every year, and I show three or four at the local shows. I post as many pics on here of em that dialup will let me, so how prouder can ya get? lol. Dad actually pout the idea into my head and said that there is the odd few that deserve to go into that champion ring, and few that are, many cheat. I want you to do everything that you can ethgically and legally to do your best in there, so Im going to get myself a steer from a steer breeder, if that makes any sence. Ive showed homegrown steers for the last.... um, uh, 5 years i think it was.

Have a great day! :D

Well if your that determined to spend money then I have one for you if you can figure out how to get him up there. He is a charlais simmental angus cross. Should clean up up all the shows you want. He is out of some cows I have on shares and I plan to just keep him to eat as he doesn't fit anything else I have.

lol. It was either 1600 for a heifer, or the 700 Im spending, and it will be a profit if I play my cards right. Im not talking about a 1800 dollar steer either. lol.

cowboyup-dad says it has to be within 2 hours drive.... and he is part char... I have a bad history with chars lol. Got run over by one when i was a kid, got run over by one almost every year, come to think of it... bad luck mabye. lol.

ACS:

I just love your posts--keep it up, and keep your enthusiasm for stock. Sometimes we get a little jaded having seen so much and need to be reminded this is fun and we choose to do it.

Thanks!
