Anyone hear Ann Coulter speak?

I saw bits of her speech in London, On., last night. She was everything from interesting to bold to inflammatory but never boring, from what I read.

Some of her answers to questions from the audience were given purely for their shock value, IMHO. Good for publicity but not so much for credibility.

Doubt you'd get in, at this late date.

Or she might be made unwelcome like she was in Ottawa . . .

Toronto freaking Star reports that "thousands showed up to protest", Twitter eye witnesses in attendance say that several dozen were there . . .

I think Ann's got herself a pretty good stage from which to denounce Canada, if it really matters.

You know on further thought, it really does matter. Coulter carries a bit on influence at home and her likely response to this unfortunate event will not make Canada look very good.

We can thank the libtards in this country for once again making Canada look like an idiot little brother . . .

Deborah Gyapong, a journalist who went to cover the event, gives her account in the link below.

A group of thugs overran the admissions table, pushed the volunteers around and threw the table aside, causing the volunteers to back out and lock the doors.

Exactly what the thugs wanted. . .

The Marxist goons have given our country a black eye, no, rather they have poked one eye out.

I do not agree with all of Ann Coulter's methods, but what has this country come to?

per, check her out on Michael Coren's show on youtube.

You might want to go hear her. She is impressive when one hears her explain her viewpoints

Not only is she not boring, she is not stupid. Just blew that "dumb blond" theory all to heck!

I have heard her on the net here a few times and she certainly is articulate. Having given it some thought though, with a wife, kids and cows, It might be prudent to steer away from potential trouble. I do think however, she will be welcome in Calgary and tolerated by the left at the University. George Bush and Bill Clinton have spoke here without incident. For that matter, Ezra Levant gets on well in Calgary. With the Ottawa debacle the hall will be full of media anyway.

Good link, BMr. Not exactly the way that CBC and the TorStar portrayed the event.

Surprise, surprise.

I wonder what it will take to get fairer representation in the MSM. Reason and balanced argument doesn't seem to do it anymore.

I submitted the following comment to the toronto star which, of course, they did not print because it violates their P.C. interpretation of freedom of speech -

If Houle (the Provost of the University of Ottawa) had sent a letter of warning to an Imam, who was an invited speaker, warning him to not engage in any actions that would be physically harmful to the attendees, how would that have been perceived?

So Per did you decide to attend ? I heard that it was not the scene that was in Ontario. I figured cow town would be a little more flexible and civil..

I watcher her on O'Reilly last night and she said that the media blew everything out of proportion and that it was edited by the media very poorly to show her in a bad light . Now that's a surprise.

No HD, I gave up my opportunity. I haven't even talked to anyone that was there. Sounded like it was more or less uneventful as you would expect in Calgary.

Watch your tongue there girl!!

University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, was quite civil to Ann Coulter and gave her a fairly respectful audience. But then London is considered a fairly conservative city by most standards.

It was in our esteemed capital city where she got the mob treatment, surprise, surprise. :x

I absolutely loved her reply to Michael Coren on his show when he asked her opinion on the assassination or murder of abortion doctors, ie. Dr. George Tiller (2009), a late term abortionist.

Her reply was something like this (NOT verbatim) - "Some would say that he was terminated in his 203rd trimester".

It is that kind of crystal clear, irrefutable logic that drives Ann Coulter's detractors stark, raving mad.

How does one refute that reply?

I enjoyed that interview Burnt. I don't have sat or cable here and have not heard Michael Coren before. Where does he hail from?

Michael Coren, born in 1959, immigrated here from England in 1985. He has written columns which appear in a number of major papers, does radio and T.V. shows and does speaking engagements in addition to authoring several books.

We had the privilege of hearing Michael speak at a provincial meeting of home schoolers in '98. At that time, his strong British accent gave cause to listen closely, but the value of his message was what was the most riveting.
