Another beautiful day today.

I may have jumped the gun a bit, but nothing ventured nothing gained:

You know, it had absolutely nothing to say to me :?

Water holes are full:

Native pasture is starting. Hopefully the hoppers don't take it this year.

It's starting to look like spring here the last couple of days too Silver. My BIL east of Williams Lake said their leaves came out on the poplars today, two weeks early.

If we make a smoke like that down here the FS will swoop in and raise complete H377. Not sure why they are now trying to save DEAD trees. :???:

The kids tell me the leaves are out down on the river, so any day here I guess.

Forrest service can get a little uppity here too, but I think they have given up on reforming us so they mostly keep an eye on us and sometimes send in the smoke jumpers.
We have managed to get it in writing that historical burn areas will remain burn areas, so as long as we have a "burn plan" filled out and on file with them they usually give us a number at least until good burning weather arrives. After that it's surprising how often lightning can strike

Looks like Mrs. Silver is one heck of a good sodbuster! You gonna sow some oats there?

Dumb question likely, but what is the reason for burning that bush/treed area?

The "saddle horse" type of lightning happens here occasionally.

It is good to burn off these areas to control brush and clean up the old grass that has little food value and the cows won't touch. If some areas are not cleaned up fairly often cattle will reject them altogether.
