This cow only has 7 toes, but I have kept all her heifers, probably this little girl will be around a long time too.

Scuse me folks, I got a big ol barn to pay for.
The cows wintered hard in this country. These ol girls ate a lot of feed doin' it too, but they are doing good with their calves.

I was at a friends place that has his Chars for sale-I'm tempted to buy his Lt Bluegrass daughters-we ran Chars here for 35 years or so. Nice uddered young cows.

Nice Charolais cattle, Shortgrass. They appear well-fed and content. We are getting a few Charolais cross calves from some older cows I bought last December. They always kind of surprise us when they come, and there has been more than one occasion this spring when we rush up to a calving cow thinking the calf is completely enclosed in a smothering sack. Guess not, it's just a white calf. :)

Boy are those little guys ever white. I haven't seen any chars around here for quite a while. Yours look mighty fine to me, thanks for the tour.

Great looking calves. They come built to grow. And they sure would be easier to find in the dark than mine

They show in the dark, but are as hard to find in the fog as black cows at night.

I've got a chance to try a crossbreeding experiment with Charolais. I could get my hands on some LT Bluegrass bull calves out of some of the stoutest Jorgenson bred cows you will ever see. Black nosed char cross bulls on straight Angus cows. What do you think Shortgrass? Quarter blood smokey calves should grow and gain like gangbusters I would guess.

I am not familiar with Jorgenson cattle. I like the Char sire on Angus dams, but an Angus sire on Char cows don't work as well. What you are talking about should work fine. I like a higher percentage Charolais (50-50). The LT Bluegrass bull is good.
