A nice couple. The lady is a shirttail relative, and her husband grew up in our area. As a young California banker in the mid 1950's, he was one of the loan officers who approved loaning money to Walt Disney to build Disneyland. This was undoubtedly a wise financial decision.

That panel set up is a nice set up. Out in this country on a couple of ranches where they brand in different spots like you do, they have built "traps". Usually in the corner of a big pasture using two existing fences as sides and adding two more with a wing to funnel cattle in. Most are built using net wire to hold calves. I'd also like to throw ya a big thank you! :D I have used your branding gizmo idea and built one of my own. I plan to use it Saturday. As I am not anywhere near the talented welder/fabricator that Sparky is I am interested how my version, which I call Darrell's doohickey, works out. And with all the other welders we have in ranchers land i am not posting pictures of my lack of welding skills. Just imagine a contraption that looks like a 2nd grader with ADD built! :D Anyway, thanks for the permission to try your idea. Tell Sparky thanks as well! :D

Hope the contraption works well for you, Leanin' H. If it doesn't, I apologize in advance.

I went to high school with a couple of your college friend's daughters. One was a class ahead of me and one was a class behind me. You were only about 15 miles north of our place.

A little grinding to knock off the rough spots before paint works wonders.

I wonder if H substituted the wheelbarrow rim with a 7.50-16 in order to get those big calves subdued? :D
