Cripes!!

To start off, let me saym that ive been in a bad mod for the last while, and today diddnt make matters any better, they actually made them worse.

I found a front row ticket to Dierks Bentley in Saskatoon tomorrow night for $30. Dad said NOONE is allowed to go, not even him, until the house and garage is spotledss. This was two weeks ago. Ive been working my tail off during the time I had, but ive been in school, checking HIS cows because he was either catching up on sleep or doing something else, feeding his cows everyday I was at the farm, twice a day, studying for final exams, and trying to get my grades a little higher. I diddnt finish, so I couldnt get the ticket. Dad was aksed if he wanted to get a ticket for the same show, same price this morning. Guess who wanted to go with some freinds, had a god ticket lined up, and wasnt allowed to go, and guess who doesnt even listen to the music, and got a ticket at the last minute? Tom ake matters worse, he's going with one of his friends. He has been spending as much or more time with this guy as us. When we're at the farm, he is too. When we're at mom's, he's at the farm. I havent gotten to do anything weith dad OR any of my friends within the last month (sides Xmas and New Years) and he is spending all his time with this friend. Im starting to feel like all Im good for is the work around the farm, nothing else, he has hardyl said anything to me, besides criticising how I* do my work and how my grades are. We went to the city the other day so I could go to Wholesale and pick out a bow with some of my working money and pay dad back, but do you know where we were from 1-5? WAL freaking MART. Sorry if I offended anyone. Why? Because they wanted to look at something there. It took Fouir Hours. I was bored in 15 minutes!

Second, I was on the phone with mom last night, and I said that saturday and sunday I have to be at the farm to halterbreak calves and tune my bow, if I jut do it after school for an hour i wont hav etime and it wont pay, well, guess who is supposed to be selling their cattle and dropping the hunting?

Third: We have been "working" on buliding me and sheldn a corral for our 4H calves so we can have them fat and sassy, well, I cant even work on it because dad has to pu tthe posts in the ground, so I guess Im going to have to carry water and feed into a makeshift pen all winter and spring again. Im thinking that three years is long enough to pop a dozen posts into the ground.

Fourthly, Im just torqued that the riders suck :p:p:p:p (had to end on a good note, cant be ll mad without a smile at the end, right?)

Oh, and I cant find a girlfriend!

Thanks for letting me get this off my chest, so to speak.

I hope you feel better now. :D

As to your dad, you got to remember he's going thru' a tough time. And his friend is probably helping him thru it. Us old folks don't get over things as quick as you youngsters. :)

Hang in there. It'll get better.

Could be worse. You could have a girlfriend who wants you spend all your time with her and all your money on her. :D

Maybe see if your dad wants to talk. You never know. He might just be feeling at a loss for word and if you tell him, politely and respectfully, how you feel, it might help.

When a man has things on his mind, he don't notice what he usually would.

Sorry you had to go to Walmart. Could'a been worse. You could have been settin' in a hair salon, waitin' for a girlfriend to get her hair done!

You sure you want a girlfrind? Sounds to me like they might not be worth it.

Only problem with girlfriends, is sometimes they turn into wives.

I know its a hard time, but he took him to Brooks and Dunn instead of me, went to bech boys, and another one, dont remember, they go to the city once a week, and he's supposed to go to some southern place and get timeshares with his buddy, and we can't afford for me and dad to go a a little snowmobiling trpi two hours from here for a weekend, and we have enough for this!

As for him not noticing, I know he has stuff on his mind, but not doing anything with your kid who is leaving in less than four years and may end up with a job on the rigs and only home once or twice a year. That is why I wanted to hunt with him as much as possible this year. I might only have three years left. He seems to have time for everyhting but me-he came bowhunting with me once, and rifle hunting three times, counting when we went to turtleford and stayed at a buddie's house. He ahs never stayed for a whle cattle show of mine-to get him to come to the one where I won the whole shebang I made a few dozen phone calls to find someone to do chores so he could come, and he missed the first show too.

JB, I would, but the last time it ended up with him yelling and me getting grounded for being a smart a$$. As soon as soemthing like this comes up, everyone gets mad right off of the bat. If someone else would say it, it would be ok, but I just can't do it.

I really haven't ever been where you are right now, but I just want to let you know I think about you and you're in my prayers. Hang in there, kiddo, k? You have a lot of folks who care a lot about you. Please remember that, k?

If talking with your dad degenerates into a yelling match you could put your concerns in writing. Polite respectful writing of course. He could digest your thoughts that way. Written words have more power. "The pen is mightier than the sword."

Instead of saying "you don't do this, you don't do that" which is like an attack you might rephrase it that it is your perception that he does thus and such. That leaves more room for his side of things.

Jinglebob has it right- you've really got to share your feelings with your dad to solve anything.

Time to suck it up a bit-be happy you get to go to some concerts-don't whine about the ones you miss. No matter how bad a day your having there's kids everywhere having ones a heck of alot worse. think about this quote "I complained about my shoes till I met a man with no feet".

Nr, It doesnt matter to me that he is goign, it's the fact that he lied to all of us, broke the rule he set, and that he has time to spend with this friend, but none with us. I leave in four years. That means just 1200 days. That's nto a lot of time, is it?
