Red Robin...

As always, nice pics...

Sure is great to see beautiful RED cattle on green grass!!!

Your fescue that you showed, are you going to graze it, hay it, use it for seed production, or none of the above???

Thanks for sharing! It sure is interesting to learn about other locations and different ways of raising the greatest food on Earth, BEEF!

Cheers---

Thanks TTB. The trouble with those reds is that they aren't your breed. They're salers. I havn't told them yet but they'll be carrying someone elses child. I'm putting RA embryos in them.
The fescue fields are very versitile. You can make the decision pretty late in the game pertaining what to do with it. I intend to combine the seed this year . Seed prices are high and there was a very short crop last year. The seed companies usually carryover lots of seed so they can better predict the price (or control it) . Everyone's barns are cleaned out and all the seed is sold. Lots of Missouri is in a drought in the seed production part of the state so it "should" be a good year. You can't count it till it's in the grain tank though. We've had small hail twice this week and with all the rain the crop will lodge pretty bad. You can always hay it but from here on the protien level is dropping. We'll just see how it goes.
