Here I am at 11PM again sitting here at the computer because my old buddy Arther is kicking up his heels again so bad I probably won't get much sleep- wishing someone had put the miracle cure on here....

Might have to try the horse medicine tho...

As long as you are up anyway, you could come down and help us night calve.

Same thing going on here soap. Three bulls busted out last spring and by the time we rounded them up 15 heifers bred. Had the flu when they broke out took about a week to regather them the rest is history.

One luxury of the shingles in this kind of weather they keep the drizzle off. :)

Sorry about the shingles. From knowing people who suffer with this, it is painful stuff. :( Hope you feel better fast.

What do those of you who have this do??

I'm getting tired of taking Ibuprofen.

I was in a head on collision 2006. Severe injuries get up every morning cant move. I TAKE norco 325/10 12 pills a day.

Ask your Dr, to try you on a round of it. It's easier and safer for the liver. It stimulates and relieves the pain in nerve ends a well as the bones.

Right now I am fighting a battle that nothing is relieving the pain. Whole left side of my upper torso inundated with Shingles. I never knew pain till I HAD THIS. Been fighting it 1 week today and its a cross between fire on the surface and knives as deep as they could be poked under the skin in the muscles and bones.

A t first when the little pin prick blisters started showing up with the pain I THOUGHT OT WAS PRACTICING VOODO pin stabs on a doll named pigfarmer.

I would not wish these on anybody not even to get info from terrorist's the pain inflicted goes beyond inhumane let alone the itching:wink:

I figered you were gonna come down with sumthin being around those pigs. consider your self lucky you aint come down with that pig flu.
good luck

I had shingles in 2002. They were totally PAIN FREE for me...except the huge sores on my back that would rub against the back of a chair or the back of the pickup seat. The meds worked wonders for me, although it was 10 days before I was able to get in and see a Dr. to get diagnosed. The huge one on my back healed right up after the meds kicked in and the wife would coat it with Gold Bond medicated ointment and big 4x4 gauze squares.

My brother wasn't so lucky...said his ribs felt like he was suspended from a meat hook and Ali was using his ribs for a punching bag. A good friend of mine had them INSIDE his eyelids. Pain was excruciating. They affect everybody different. Do what you can to reduce stress and rest as much as you can.

The reason they are kicking my but according to the Dr. is I am 18 mos post surgery for a cervical decompression from a head on collision.

22 year old kid cut across in front of me we were both traveling estimated 55 mph. He hit me head on in the drivers fender and door.

I had a previous neck surgery in 1997 so the damage from the head on was major. They placed 2-12 inch titanium rods and 8 screws in my cervical spine july 2008. The rods are the size of my index finger. To place these rods there they cut every upper muscle that crosses the upper torso and cervical spine. I was told after surgery it would be 4 to 6 years before the nerves would heal if they did. I was already on pain meds around the clock and in pain management.

Well low and behold the shingles are in the left shoulder front and back. They extend down my left arm to the elbow and up the left side of the neck and head. I would estimate the current blisters cover 150 to 200 square inches of area. Right in the cervical spine and muscles.

4 layers of clothing while feeding and checking cows don't help matters.

Thank GOD the new arrivals of shingle outbreaks have quit as of today. :)

I am thankful that as a rule shingles stay confined to one side of the body.

Most of all I am thankful that GOD SAYS HE WILL NOT PLACE MORE ON OUR PLATES THAN WE CAN HANDLE. Even though sometimes it appears we might need some sideboards on our plates. GOD is ALWAYS true and faithful to not over fill our plates.

Thank you one and ALL for the advice and well wishes. I hope its all down hill from here on.

ILH have you ever heard of soaking white raisins in brandy overnight. I met a man and woman in the grocery store about a year and a half ago. She claimed that soaking the raisins in the brandy helped. I asked her how many a day. I believe she said about a quarter cup of raisins over night. Then consume the raisins the next day. I never got around to asking what to do with any brandy that the raisins did not soak up.

Said you have to do it for a few weeks before it helps. Well I was telling some friends about it low and behold they knew of it also.

One thing about it it can't hurt to try it.
