They may or may not be niave politically, I really can't say. Nothing wrong in believing what you believe in... I have several beliefs in my life that I have a hard time putting a finger on where they came from, but they are what they are. I am sure it is that way with the DC's to. The sisters are in their later 30's and Natalie is 34 I think... (Don't quote me on that).. I am doing this off memory right now.
I do know tht now they are living in LA.
There is a basic lack of civility in this world and in this country at the moment. It wasn't how I was raised. I grew up the son of a former Army officer from the Vietnam era and the grandson of an Army Colonel. They are the ones who taught me about being a person and respecting other peoples views. You don't have to agree with them, you don't have to support them but they would have tanned my hide if I didn't act towards people in a civil manor. No one should have told their children to spit in the DC face. That is just plain nasty. I suppose I understand the anger behind the mom I just would never tell my kid to spit on someone, but that goes back to my Dad and his coming back from vietnam. AGain, before my time but I have heard the stories.
I am a 31 year old (As of yesterday, god, seams like only yesterday I was turning 21) conservative leaning libratarian white male.. Just to inform folks if I they see any bias. I don't watch Sean Penn movies but that is not because I disagree with his poltics, I just don't like his movies.
I have 3 good friends who are overseas right now. 2 in Iraq and one in Afgahnistan. Their stories are very different than what I hear on the news but my feeling is that it varies from person to person and area to area. My dad spent a whole tour in Vietnam in the backcountry and claims he never once pulled the trigger of his gun. Truth? I always doubted it but my mom tells me it is.
