Robin McGraw's new book, "From the Heart. Choosing to live
with passion and purpose".

I just finished reading it and would recommend it highly.
I never was real high on her for some reason, but this book
changed my mind. This is one neat lady, dedicated to her
family. She says we all make choices. She talks about how
different men and women think. She tells women to listen
to their intuition on things and not let someone tell them
something they don't feel is right. (Doctors for one.)

She spills the beans on Dr. Phil a few times, lets you see that
they are just like everyone else and really gives you some things
to think about. (He's not perfect either)

It is funny, insightful, and just an all-around good book.

poor fh!!! Comes on here with and honest-to-goodness-from-the-heart suggestion for valentine's day and all she gets is FLACK from the crew!!

SIC 'EM, FH!!!!

Anyway, I agree with you on Robin...I saw her several months ago on Dr Phil and she seems very down to earth about her book, her family, her marriage and her faith!!! I really like the fact that she and Phil have not always been wealthy beyond anyone's comprehension....they struggled early in their marriage and had some tough times!! yep...they remember those "TOP RAMEN DAYS" :D :D Have not read the book, but would love to!!! Will have to drop cowboyup a little hint...yeahh......right across the noggin!!!

Oh man!!!!! girl, you ain't lived till you've been in Valentine Nebraska on Valentines Day.. Yeeeeee Hawwwwwwwwww......
The city counsel puts on a corination with k through 12 as participants the high school boys that are choosen by there school mates wear tuxes and girls all have beautiful gowns.. And there is a king and queen, duke and dutchess, a girl and boy from grade 9 to 12 are choosen. Once you have been choosen, you can't be choosen again. There is a theme, this year it's Hearts on Fire.. and it just way cool and beautiful.... There are tons of weddings and house judging for decorations and a big heart painted on the street. A dance for the teens.......

And this year the day befor the corination they are having a bull bash, where cattle breeders bring there bulls in to be show cased. This year they are having stallions too. They close off mainstreet and have pens of bulls and there are tons of things to do.... Raffles, shoeshining, free movie for the kids, in store deals, livestock judging, book signing, this years book name is C is for Cornhusker.... I think I will get one signed for my favorite Kansasan...... Valentine really puts out the red carpet and it is a blast..... Soapweed will prolly go... I can't go to the bull bash as we are selling calves this Saturday, but Sunday we will go to the corination...

How neat! It sounds like fun. Your town name certainly lends itself to something big. Ours (Newark) could only do something with Noah.
So do you decorate the houses according to the theme Hearts of Fire also?
What did you do with your decorations?

Sounds like Christmas decorations could stay up in Valentine til mid FEB. Nice way to shake the winter blahs.

And they do... I know my neighbors next to me have them up.. Isn't there a song about not taking your christmas lights down?? Something about being a redneck?
The post office evan has a special stamp for valentines day... Also the vets club sends valentines day cards to all the vets in the three state hospitals and to the men overseas fighting in the war.. I think they had over 4600 homemade valentines day cards to send. The local radio station gave the group who made the most valentines day cards a fifty dollar prize and the winners where an afternoon kindegarden class... I guess they were all well done and great.. All postage is donated.. Just a really good thing that Valentine does....
