at what age do you casterate and dehorn jersy calves

ok, so i went to an auction this week and i couldnt say no to this one week old jersy calf. we have never owned cows before and i need to know at what age do i need to casterate him and get him dehorned??

Right now would be perfect...The younger the better- easier on the calf- and the person doing it...

Oh god... Right now I would do nothing to stress that calf at all OT... First calf, never had cows before and a Dairy calf from an auction to boot.. Wait till he has been there and is a month old or so.. those auction dairy calves can be oh so touchy.
