Attend your local Tea Party

The other day I heard a Democrat say something that was a bit puzzleing So I have to ask the Obama supporters about it.

The panel was talking about the up coming Tea Parties in the US on April 15th and the Democrat on the panel was asked what effect they were going to have on Obama and his Administration. The answer was a bit shocking as it was

Since the people attending these Tea Parties are not supporters of Obama, they would have little to no effect on Obama and the way his Administration run things.

From what I understand these tea parties are not restricted to Republicans they are for anyone that is tired of the bail outs and the run away government spending. The BAIL OUTS AND RUN AWAY government spending is not a Bush/Republican problem anymore, yes it was started under the Bush Administration BUT it is a Obama/Democrat problem now. I would think even some Obama supporters (Independence, soft Republicans and soft Democrats that supported the Change he promised) are beginning to have big problems with it since it is putting their grandchildren in debt before they are even born.

Since Obama's job approval rating has continued to slide since taking office I would guess a few of his supporters will be attending these tea parties to voice their concerns to what Obama promised and they voted for compared to what they are getting which is more of the same if not worse.

That said my question is, once the election is over And Yes I know Obama won but is he not suppose to be the President for all the people not just those that supported him in the election? :?

I'd like to take a shot at your question here, Tam. Maybe that will give the Obama supporters time to formulate their responses.

This is what President-elect Obama said in his victory speech on November 4th:

"And, to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote, but I hear your voices, I need your help, and I will be your president, too."

This is supposed to be the video of him saying that, but I can't confirm that:

So it appears that (at that time, at least) he wanted to be President for all of the people.

Of course, we all know how his promises and pledges are working out. He doesn't seem to follow through. He said what he needed to say to win, and now he does whatever he wants to do. And his followers just let him get by with it.

One has to wonder just how many of those voices he will be listening to on Weds.? I figured a couple of weeks ago that he would find a way to be out of the country on Tea party Tax day. And guess what, I heard the other day he is to be in Mexico for a meeting of the Americans on Thurday. Would not surprise me if he left a day early. You know a little tour to allow his adoring foreign fans a chance to witness his power of the word. I'm sure he will be loved once he tells them anyone who is illegaly in the US will be give legal status and qualify for welfare with health benefits.

Here is what one group says about the Tea party..
“Any group this size, organized at the community level by volunteers who often have never been politically active before, will encompass diverse beliefs and interests. Tax Day protestors won’t agree on everything

When you go to these Tea Partys, watch out for the Obama supporters trying to quash your rights to peacefully protest.

They will probably try to create problems, and blame it on the peaceful ones. (or Bush)

ACORN vs. tea bags

Tax day is looking like nirvana for agitated activists from the left and the right.

There's been a ton of coverage of the "Tea Parties" scheduled by conservative activists around the country — Newt Gingrich is said to be attending one of these anti-tax shindigs. And then there's the threat of counter tea party protests and "infiltration" by liberal activists.

And now ACORN is getting in on the act, planning "dozens" of protests outside post offices on April 15, presumably to get the attention of last-minute tax return folks and the inevitable local media stakeouts of post offices on tax day.

According to a statement this afternoon from the liberal group Americans United for Change, ACORN and other progressive groups like AFSCME and US PIRG "will hold dozens of events outside local post offices in at least 30 states to highlight President Obama's plan to help restore fairness to the tax code, including closing an outrageous loophole in the tax code that allows offshore corporate tax havens, as called for within the president’s budget."

Remember those Code Pink people, that Barney Frank had to scold for disrupting the hearing on CSPAN, well they plan to be at the Tea Parties too

I guess they thought they would also misrepresent the peaceful protests as Rightwing get togethers.

Santa Monica Tea Party
Wednesday, April 15th 2009 4:00--5:00 PM
Santa Monica, CA

The Santa Monica Tea Party of 2009 and Tea Parties all across America are being organized by friends of Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly, all about getting less funding for government. Let's show up with a better message: STOP funding wars and Wall Street, and start funding the needs of the people-- health care, education, and a green economy. Join us as we crash their party.
