Soap: You are not that much older than me, FYI. And as far as me being open minded about you...well you are the one who has stated MANY times that you vote straight party ticket....no matter what...and have condemned those of us that vote for the best person, regardless of party lines.

My point is that I am "open-minded" enough to vote for the best person, regardless of party affiliation. It is just so seldom that a Democrat is what I would deem to be "the best person." The reason I almost always end up voting for the Republican running in a race, is that their beliefs and positions on issues are most in line with my own thoughts of what is right.

Soapweed, you need to stop and think for a second.
You are refering to USING common sense something our liberal Bush haters are incapable of doing. They have tunnel vision when it comes to that.

The other reason I tend to vote a straight party ticket, is that once a candidate arrives in Washington, they usually vote for the Party that brought them to the dance. Democrats hang together and Republicans hang together. I voted for Chuch Hagel from Nebraska. He ran on the Republican ticket, and I thought his interests and mine coincided. When he got to Washington, he jumped ship and now sides with the Democrats. If he were to run again as a Republican, I would vote for the Democrat instead.
