Got some baling done today. We had a little glitch in the purchase of our new place due to holidaying bankers and long weekends but it is a done deal as of today. The vendor would not let us start haying until everyone jumped through the proper hoops.

First bale on our new place.

Started baling on this field but it was a little tough so left it for a couple of hours and baled a little field with a lighter crop.

Done with this little patch, back to the other one.

Shadows, windrows and bales.

Congratulations on the first bale on the new ranch. Sure looks like a nice place with great productivity. Will you still have to haul hay as far as you have in the past, or will you have enough nearby hay now?

CONGRATS on the new place.
Great shots. Love the red sky one.
Ya know what the old saying is....Red sky at night saloirs delight...Red sky morning Saloir take warning.
I use to think it was only true when your close to water...nope works out here in the high desert plains.

I'm hoping that the guy that runs this outfit stays with a cowherd that the 2 places can winter.

We are still going to try to get the meadows we have been doing. I believe hay will be a good comodity in this area this year. We have a couple who are int. in putting up about 800 bales on contract.

Congratulations!!! It's got to be exciting for you to get this
place and you are already putting up hay on it.

How much better could it get?

Congrats Dave!! :D The hay looks great!. I hope none of the forest fires are close to you. Lots of smoke here too. There are a few fires in the area here, but none close to me. I hope it stays that way . Seen the smoke plume from the Ootsa Lake fire from home the other day (I got pictures that I'll post later). Not sure how many fires are now burning in BC, last I heard it was over 700, but someone told me last night that there are now 800 . :(

The tradition is when ya open a new place, to sign the first dollar and display it. How 'bout signing that bale and putting it in a display case? Congrats! Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

I think Dave is going to invite you up for a baler warming party. :D

Just as long as it doesn't get to hot.

Congradulations!!!

A new land purchase and even a lease can be a big deal. Lots of folks still dreaming and even working to get a place of their own.

Best of luck and God Bless......
