Didn't make 100 today- highest I saw was 97  And this morning was actually pretty nice (just in the 80's with about 25-30 mph breeze)...But saying 100-107 for the rest of week and weekend.... :(

The weather boys from NOAA released the forecast for August today-- looks like more of the same for me if they are right- HOT & DRY....

Well shoot, we are forcasted for equal chances, IE normal, which of course means warm and dry.. We are entering our dry period and with 3.5 or so inches over the past 3 days and 6 inches over the past 10 days I guess we might have a bit of a surplus for a bit of that time.. It was STEAMY today once the sun came out, don't know how warm it got but man, it was swelering last night and this afternoon.

I wish we could send some of this rain to the folks that need it,I have never seen weather this lopsided, hot and dry up north, and wet and cool in TX,with more rain predicted through summer, still too wet to get anything done, rained yesterday and again this morning.............good luck

Same here in North Texas, some have started to cut hay but we got a little shower last night and more predicted for next 4 or 5 days. Most Hay grazer has headed out and turning yellow. I got 40 acres of costal I need to cut for a friend but just waiting to see what heppens with weather. Another friend cut about 20 acres of costal/johnson grass that he wants me to roll for him. Would not be bad but trying to work baling hay in with a 65 hour work week can make it interesting.
I know guys needing to get back in field to combine wheat, they are saying maybe Monday if it does not rain any more. They had some of the best looking wheat in a long time back at first part of June, now allot of it is laying down or sprouted in the heads. Sure is hard to take, have a great crop and lose it because you can not get it out of field

Western Heat Will Sear the Plains Updated: Saturday, July 21, 2007 2:42 PM

This being the height of summer, the sun-baked West is behaving as a source of hot air to be sent elsewhere in the continent. Through the first part of next week, the overflow of hot air will spill onto the northern and central Great Plains and, to a significant extent, over the line into central Canada. The worst of this heat will be felt over Montana, the western Dakotas and northeastern Wyoming, where highs of 100-105 degrees will be all too common. Readings to near 110 degrees are not out of the question.

That's HOT weather,IM thinking it will finally get summer like around here, the rain seems to be heading west,no way are we gonna get by without some serious summer weather around here, rains have been mighty nice but it sure has the haying chores piled up+ the quality of hay is fair at best, guess I will have to keep the lick tanks full this winter, lots of hay ,but the quality is poor,so what did we gain :???:
good luck

Just keeps getting HOTTER--105 down here on the river now-- the NOAA thermometer for the breaks shows 110....

I went north this morning to check waterholes...Lucky that we got the early amount of rain and the water table is up good-- so the springs are still running...But the reservoirs are drying up fast....

Found 2 bum calves of the neighbors at one waterhole--ones pretty little, so let them know about them...They just trailed to a new pasture a week or two ago....Seems to happen every year as they don't take an extra hour or so to mother up-- and the old cows take off hunting grass and the calves go back hunting mom--end up with my cows  ....

Weather boys only predicted 100 for today-- so don't know how hot it will be next couple days when they're predicting 106  But they say relief could be on the way- only predicting 94 for Thursday...

Checked our in house weather station,30.2,which is around 90 for you non metric conformers, its 9.40 in the evening :(

Just when are you Texans taking back your weather??? Our grass is seriously burning,I'm even getting afraid of fires now with the balers 'trying' to get the hay off

It's 80 degrees at 11:30 pm with 82% humidity.....Our high today was in the Low 90s. We aren't havin the 100 degree temps ya'll are...but once the sun pops out...the heat index "real feel" feels like it's 100 with this humidity.

Driving around this morning the car was telling me it was 57.. Sppossed to top off in the low 80s for the next few days and than poke back up in the 90's at the end of the week but that could change.. It has been awful strange weather this summer, we were real warm in May and Early June and dry too but since than we have been relatively cool (With a few days here and there that got into that heat index of 100+ crap) and pretty darn rainy.. Usually this time of year we are begging for rain and it is 90+ every day or at the very least very high 80's.. Oh well, it has been nice for evening walks with the family and I that is a good thing..

Old Al Gore should be in Montana today hawking his book and campaigning-- might even make a buck or two and pick up a convert in this heat  ....

I don't think I've seen a hot spell this hot, this long, ever before-- even in 88 or 90 we got some cool relief in the middle...

Today about 5PM you could look at the temp map of Central and Eastern Montana and they were all somewhere between 105-112...Glad I have a window airconditioner in my office- cause the old house conditioner can't keep up...Even heard my favorite "waterholes' " air conditioner pooped out this afternoon, so there wasn't even a port in the storm there...

Schwanns man came by this afternoon and made a fortune off me buying ice cream bars for the grandkids to keep cool with...
