What does Fox project in terms of election results?

House is definitely going Democrat- now they think the Senate may too...Both CNN and Fox are calling it big wins by "conservative Democrats"- many of which are anti gun control, anti abortion, anti gay marriage...Both are now using the term "old style Democrats"....

I can believe that they are anti gun control and even anti gay marriage, but in Tennesse supposedly Harold Ford who is a devout man and anti abortion lost to the Republican Corker.

.
Wasn't Corker antiabortion?

Corker now claims to have always been "personally" pro-life and says he was wrong in 1994.

I'd take this comment and the party platform with the prolife plank over the abortionist party and someone who claims to be prolife.

They project the Dems will contest every election they lose.

Actually it now sounds like the Repubs have called in the FBI on some missing absentee ballots in Indiana--which looks like they lost....

The dems don't want "old style democrats' look at what they did to Lieberman. And Pelosi doesn't fit that mold either. This is gonna be fun watching the left wing libs slide off the left side of the page like they were riding on green cow manure.

So will they pick up 29 house seats and 6 Senate seats, they say history of past elections say they should.

Pelosi for House majority leader, just announced projected Dem majority.

I have to say that Kola and I told y'all that the Bush administration was becoming more and more unpopular with the people and that to me is what this election demonstrates. It's not just about Iraq, it's about not funding scientific research, polarizing the nation, racking up a huge deficit, being arrogant, ruining the US's standing in the international community, being hypocritical and jaded in how they championed certain issues (anti stem cell, anti abortion, end of life issues), meddling in state's rights issues (Terry Schiavo), politicizing the USDA, backing big business, supporting multinational companies, being anti-environment (and I am by no means a rabid Sierra Club person but really   ). I could go on and on. The people have sensed that this administration is arrogant, incapable of admitting error, unwilling to cooperate even with their own party, secretive, and hypocritical.

When the weather forecasters predict a drought, we don't like that either. Whether they are right or wrong. :(

R2--I noticed you used a word that I had thought of several times- altho never said it on here -"ARROGANCE"-- and now tonite I heard the talking heads on TV using it quite often- even FOX...They commented about how the "arrogance" of the administration left many conservative Republicans disenchanted...Two of the issues mentioned were the Dubai Ports legislation that Bush threatened to veto and the immigration issue which he refused to listen to them on- in fact FOX called them slaps in the face to conservatives... It was kind of what I was seeing- instead of representing what the majority wanted- it was an "I know better whats best for you" attitude....And when thinking about Ag issues I can think of many more.....

OT, what is going on between Tester and Burns? We don't get
a local TV station.

And the radio is off the air.

Ok, Reader 2, from not mentioning arrogance before, we've just
about worn it out now.

Tester is ahead about 53% to 45% for Burns with 35% of the vote counted....FOX won't call it yet- but they think Tester wins.....

Google up Helena Independent Paper -- they have a great website for state races...

Wish this Burns- Tester thing would get over and I'd go to bed- just heard Flathead Counties computer failed so they are hand counting- might take all night... Computers :!:

All my local races are in -- my Sheriff candidate- who is the incumbent and was my old District Brand Inspector won better than 2 to 1...And my Judge- who I fill in for- won by almost 4 to 1, so I guess I still have a job

And the issue I started by running as an Independent and winning- the issue to change all county elections to non-partisan won almost 3 to 1...People are getting sick and tired of Partisan Politics.....

I am not as pessimistic as you about the Congress being soft on terrorism with the Dems. And I have reason to be optimistic having lived in a country -- Israel -- that both champions democracy and civil liberties and is tough on terrorism. In my opinion, the current administration crossed the line where Israel has been vigilent not to cross the line in spite of the horrific threat they face daily.

.....and done so unnecessarily in what it seems was a grab for power.

With the bungling of intelligence, big competence issues in policy decisions in the war, and committee members who would rather sell out than provide oversight, and other scandals, the democrats don't have that high of a bar to beat. For the sake of the nation, let us all hope they succeed in raising it instead of falling victims of power as the republicans have.

As one of my favorite friends always says, "We'll see".

I hope you are more wrong than right, for the sake of the country.

Sorry I didnt get to finish my what I was going to say. Yes the Dems may have control of congress but they do not have numbers to override any thing that the pres vetos or to force the Republicans to do any thing. I think we will see at least two more years of nothing but finger pointing and blaming for any and everything that either party does not like. I just dont see anything changing, like Econ said I hope I am wrong but I just dont see things changing.

Sorry Econ, Every time there is an election one side or the other says we will work together for the good of the country and as soon as the tv cameras turn the other direction are out to gather as much power and control as they can for themselves first and their party second, with how bad can I screw the other party and my enemys coming in right after that.

Sorry if I sound pessamsitic but you know as well I do that some things just never change.
