Well, I got the computer back up and running finally, so I thought I better tell you guys what I hae been getting into the past while.
First thing I can think of is I shot another mule deer with my bow this year, right around the third week of september. It was just a small doe, bu tI was trucking grain for dad from the land south of the yard to the yard, and I seen her literally, right beside the house. I grabbed my bow and put the sneak on her. Before she turned to give me a broadside shot, I had been sneaking for a good 300 yards. She made it to the pea field behind the house, and when she turned broadside to go into the bush, My new Liberty bow released the 125 muzzy broadhead through both lungs and ended my bow season.
Secondly, we finished harvest October 25 with a 95 bu/acre oats crop. We were in fear of loosing the farm if this crop didn't pan out, but the good Lord was with us and Dad says it was one of the best crops we've had to date.
Thirdly, My brother hadn't filled his archery mule deer tag by October 30, so I thought I would take him to my favourite spot for seeing deer in hopes of him getting his first. See, I didn't take him here earlier because he wanted a big one, and this spot is usually just smaller ones and does until the rut. But anyway, we parked the truck at the road and walked the mile to the spot, where we made sort of a blind between two bales. We didn't have anything come within range until almost dark, then a small group of does walked pasta few yards out of my brother's comfortable shooting range, so I told him to hold off because another one was feeding towards us. A small 2x2 fed right in front of us, then turned giving him an almost perfect broadside shot. He took it and the deer dropped on the spot. We couldn't have been happier.
After that, I got my report card back. My average was 72, with my highest class being math 11 with an 85, and my lowest being IA with a 60. Me and drafting don't get along I might add.
With a good report card, we got to go on our yearly hunting trip. We decided to go down to zone thirteen for the CWD mule deer. I had an antlerless whitetail tag as well. A buddy from camp showed us around te area, and even left school at noon to lend us a hand. I'd like to thank him again for all the help. We didn't see any mule deer does withtin shooting range, but seen a lot of bucks, some beautiful country and a few coyotes, and even a gopher in my crosshairs, haha. I also shot a whitetailed doe the first night we were there.
Then came parent-student-teacher interviews. Dad came with me, and no exhadurations, all my teachers said good things about me. My math teacher said he had a room full of clones of me and my english teacher said I was a joy to teach because I bring different views in during class discussion an dthat I just have to work on doing my work neater and handing in rough copies.
Now, it's hunting season here. I have been holding out for a 140 or bigger, but so far have only seen two, one was running and one was beside a cemetary so I passed on them both. I have however, shot six coyotes, two fox and a skunk that was up for some reason. What will I ever do with all this money?
Hope everyone has been keeping well, and it's nice to be back,
God Bless.
