The biggest difference of all, of course, is this: Bush, in his first six months, inherited a dominant superpower, a booming economy, a budget surplus, and a relatively peaceful world. Obama inherited the worst financial disaster since the Depression, the worst recession since World War II, two wars, and the vast fiscal hole Bush left him. So even if he meets W. somewhere in the middle, Obama may not be doing too badly.
Lets hope there is not another 9/11 to see how Obama finishes his term. We know he will leave the biggest debt any president in history has left to the next president. He will leave the biggest mistake of health care every imagined. The list goes on and on. Bush will seem like an angel after Obama leaves. Isn't it funny that all other Presidents were addressed President Bush, President Clinton and on and on, but President Obama is just Obama.
