I am being over run with cats, the neighbor to the east of me has a hunters camp along my east fence line and has some hunters that come outa Louisiana, every year same old thang they dont want their cats so they just take em to the huntin lease & turn em loose, keeps rats outa their grub I guess is their thinkin ?
well when huntin seasons over hunters leave and of course they leave the cats, just go back to the big city and get em another cute lil kitty, next year same ole thang.
I trap, shoot & have had about 5 of em spayed, but there is a limit to keeping cats, anyway Yesterday evening I saw the ugliest damn cat I ever seen slinking along the smoke house, looks like a scroungy old Tom,got my gun and was fixin to send him to the promise land when I noticed the ugly &*#%^#@ has a striking resemblance to Big Dummie from Big Beaver,so I guess I will let him stay for a while, seems only fitting I been feeding canuckle heads many years anyway.
So what can I name this old scroungy lookin old thang ?...........good luck

Actually I have been wanting to post some pictures of our son's cats.
Did you know there is three pattern types of tabbies? One is the marbled tabby. They have the black spots on gray instead of stripes. Another is the striped. They have black stripes that run down their body on both sides. And then their is the classic, they have the stripes with a bullseye on the body part of the cat. All tabbies have vest buttons and a M between their eyes.

I am always amazed at the ignorance and cruelty of some people. They get a kitten or puppy and they are just sooo cute. But when they grow up and the cute starts to wear off, they just dump them wherever they can and let them become a problem for others. No responsiblity for their actions.

We have quite a few "crick" cats. These are tame cats that have gone wild and live on the crick in the good months and then move back into peoples yards in the winter. They are sure hard on the grouse populations. I console myself that they are getting some of the mice, moles and voles, tho'.

Grampa always said that it was bad luck to kill a cat, so it's hard for me to bring bad luck down on my head, by thinning the population out.

When I was young, we had a guy who Dad let trap for fox. When I was out in the pastures and saw one of his traps with a live animal in it, such as a fox or cat, I would shoot it to end it's suffering. Sure made him mad, as he said the blood, ruined the set. I told him , he just needed to get to his sets before I did. It wasn't like I was going around and checking on them every day, like he should have been doing.

His attitude was, "well, it's just an animal, so what if it suffers?"

I hate an attitude like that.

I came to work one morning (at the vet clinic), and found a big cardboard box on the front step. Someone had written on the top, "Please find Fluffy a good home". In the side of the box was a big round hole. No Fluffy. Obviously these people didn't know how hard it is to keep a cat in cardboard. :D :D :D

We never did see a cat, but I bet it went home!
