Another day of beautiful calving weather- but darn- I'm not calving for a couple more months...46 degrees again today- but its supposed to ccol down back to normal temps starting about tommorrow...

Went out today thru the cows this afternoon (remembered the camera  )- they were scattered all over just soaking up the heat...Lots left the hay and went grazing...Or decided to just soak up the sun...Sure easy weather on the old girls...

Thanks for the ranch tour, Oldtimer. Your cattle are in great shape. It was a lovely day here, with a noon-time temperature of 58 degrees. Can't beat it. We are trying to build a fence around a calving lot, and there isn't even too much frost in the ground. In the very near future we will no longer be able to cross the meadows, if the frost goes out.

We've had good weather here lately. Everything would have been great today and yesterday except for the 1st calver that wasn't sure if her calf was supposed to be there or if it was a coyote and needed to be kicked. Idiot!! I think I got her on the right track this afternoon? female dog!!

I like your type of cow oldtimer. They have a lot of volume. For the way most winters in this country are, they do better than a thin gutted cow.

It was 61 degrees here today. Not much wind either. It was warmer yet in the Black Hills. I think old man winter got the southerners weather mixed up with ours this year. We are very dusty here right now.

We were at La Junta, CO Tues, and on south toward Kim. The snow was still up to the 3rd wire in places and 2nd wire (on a 4 wire fence) most everywhere. Then you post pics in NE Montana that look like that--go figure! They are having no trouble getting their cows to eat hay. Hay is around 130 to 140/ ton I' hearing. Your stock is looking nice- from one ol'timer to another. :)

We had sunshine yesterday as well....looks like it's gonna be another pretty sunshiney day again today. Still have 2 to 3 inches of water standing everywhere in pastures, makes for messy drivin in the pasture. Yesterday evening we went out and fed, then on around to get some firewood cut. (We've run out) Not good. But it happens. That last cold spell...we burned a bunch of wood. Couldn't cross the creek yet...so had to make do with a bois d'ark tree that's been down for most of last year. LOL FIL just asked this mornin if we got any wood...I told him yes..and what kind....and he asked, "Does the chainsaw still have a chain on it?" LOL We also found a lil bit of pecan to cut up. Hopefully this afternoon the creek will have gone down enuff so that I can get across it in the Toyota. And we can cut another load.

Puttin out hay in this mud is not fun at all......boggin halfway to your knees..even tho we've changed hay feedin spots evertime we feed. We need some warm sunshine to dry this stuff up some.

Cows look good. Bellies full, warm sun, contented, looks like they even have something to graze on. Happy cows that look well taken care of. Good job, OT. :)

Mrs. Greg- I wish you had kept your wind...Today is just the opposite of yesterday...Wind howling 40-50 mph--temp got to 30, but is dropping fast...Predicting 5 Below tonite....

Wind feels like its blowing right off one of your snowbanks....
