Its up around 44F here right now, and the snow is melting like crazy. The frost is really starting to come out of the ground and there is a pile of water lieing around. Going to give the MFD in the ole CIH a workout feeding cattle tonite.... Mudboggin 101   :D

Spring has sprung in the southern Colorado Rockies. Temp 55F today, saw the first bluebirds and robins of the year today. The Sandhill cranes flew over last week on their way to Idaho. Today was the first day the wind hasn't blown for a week or so.

Would really like some mud. Our snowpack in the Rio Grande Basin in at 61% of average, up quite a bit from the 42% it was at two weeks ago. The ground is so dry that the snow melt is going to go straight into the soil rather than run off, so our runoff is going to be low and short this year. Unless we get some pretty good snows in the next few weeks, this year is going to be a mirror of 2002, the worst in history around here. Going to be another interesting year here, of course we always say that.
