Anybody that hasn't been watching Beck this week should take a look. He's in California all week, speaking about how the Progressive movement in both the Dem. and Repub. party has changed the direction of the US, and how it has not been beneficial.

I liked last nights show, where he outlined Mellon's (sp?) work on how increased taxes, actually decreased tax revenue for the Government, which I have read studies about before.

I read an article several years ago in the Readers Digest how
Bush lowering the capital gains tax resulted in much more
income to the Treasury. It was a huge percentage difference.

Doesn't anyone look into this stuff before they cram it down
our throats.

Capital gains tax increase is one of my pet peeves. It robs from
everyone. The Readers Digest had a story about a family that
bought a house to remodel. They went to the paint store, the carpet
store, the lumber yard, the plumbing shop, etc. They all worked
on this house. This was when capital gains tax stood at 28% (Bush
lowered it to 15%). When they finished, by the time they paid
for everything they bought and paid the capital gains tax, they
made like $3/hour for their labor. They said they'd NEVER do that
again. So who lost? The paint store, the carpet store, the lumber
yard, the plumbing shop and America!!!!!!!

And they say capital gains only affect the rich...
