Been buying calves

I'm buying calves that have some age to them and are thin. Some plain ones included. I'll graze crab grass then wheat then ground ear corn. Here's today's example.

I like starting calves too. I'll keep these awhile.
I have stuffed a few squares in lofts but alas I'm mostly used up. In the end you'd just as soon that I wasn't there. Pretty nice in the comb of a loft though yesterday I figure lol.

Nice surprise this morning. Unloaded last night at dusk. All was good . No hard breathing. No slobbering. No mouths open. 18 head unloaded and they all looked fine.

SDBS - Sudden Dead Bovine Syndrome. I always consider it a plus when I can lose one before I get vaccine and other processing expenses in him. Not to mention saving the Draxxin, Excede or whatever else you would have wasted on him if you had caught him sick. Good job controlling costs on that one, cowboy.

lol you're a real good friend. He's a wonderment. It was hot but he sure didn't show heat stress. Could have got pinched in a gate. Who knows.

He who has, must lose.

BMR, I think we will have hay for what we plan to witer and not much else. I have booked 3 loads of screening pellets and thinking I should book a couple more.

Fires have Williams Lake pretty much shut down and 100 Mile completely evacuated. Several burning in the Chilcotin but none close to us yet.

This is so sad. What started all the fires? I hope they get them out soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all in that area.
