Best Looking "Contraction" You'll Ever See!

In response to the news today that the economy contracted -.1 percent in the final quarter of last year, Democrats are touting the claim that this is "the best-looking contraction in U.S. GDP you'll ever see." The claim was originally made by chief U.S. economist for Capital Economics Paul Ashworth.

"The drag from defense spending and inventories is a one-off. The rest of the report is all encouraging," Ashworth also claimed.

The claim was quickly seized upon by Democrats, looking to share good news about a contracting economy.

Democratic party communications director Brad Woodhouse quickly began spreading the word on Twitter:

"Best looking contraction you'll ever see!"

Spin is only half of it. You have first have to have a sucker to believe it.

We have a consumer protection agency for everything. What we need is a voter protection agency for the low informed voter to keep them apprised of that liberals are really doing in their dishonest conduct.

funny...less defense spending is the cause, which the Dems. have been wanting, but over at Huffington Post, they are blaming it on "austerity measures"

WASHINGTON -- Lawmakers were stunned Wednesday to learn that the U.S. economy officially dove toward a double-dip recession at the end of 2012, contracting for the first time in three and a half years amid steep declines in government spending and sluggish exports.

Policymakers were similarly stunned in Europe when reductions in government spending led to continued economic malaise, leading top economists there to question the logic behind austerity recommendations. European austerity programs are a major driver of the slowdown in U.S. exports, and several economists have argued that reductions in government spending, here and abroad, are almost solely responsible for the suddenly tanking economy.

Don't all liberals have: official government email, then the email they conduct official business with, then email account that would give to the pubs if they found out he had another account, then their personal account, and then the personal account the conduct their real "business" with?
