Wondering what kind of wind breaks you folks have. A couple of years ago I seen one that was built in canada, which was tin, built at a angle where the calves could get under the slope and the cows could not. Just wondering what works for you, I am getting tired of plowing out windbreaks this year allready, Wish I could find a tree that grows like the weeds grow in my fields. :D

I have saw an idea in southeastern utah that you might try. They took a cat and made a dugout a couple hundred yards long facing south. The dirt from the dugout was piled on the bank of the north side. Some guys have even set ties every 12 feet or so and then power poles across the tops running east and west. Then they took pine or cedar and made a riprap roof of sorts which they covered with heavy black plastic or even old moldy hay/straw. Then they covered the roof with a foot of dirt/gravel. So the back is basically a dirt wall like a dugout. If a guy had the equipment, it would be a cheap way to build a shelter. Good luck.

per had some pics of his on here a week or two back, looked pretty good in that he just moved them instead of plowing them out
