Better Branding pics

Thanks to Mom-in-law, we managed to get some good pictures at the branding. :D Guess My mom and I will have to go camera shoppin' as mine is lost and her's has issues. Here's me and Ranch catching heels.

Did I say heels? I meant heel. Told ya I was rusty. But the shoulder is 100% better than pre-cutjob. Plus all ropers need excuses! The gizmo getting ready to do it's job.

My electric brand is a tad to big for calves. I need to order a smaller one but built a hot brand for this go around. Something about a fire with irons in it makes it seem right at a branding. While electric or propane works well, the kids need to see how Grand-dad did it too. The Leanin' H goes on another one. :D

It might be kinda plain and lacking bells and whistles, but I am quite fond of that brand. The fact it is on cattle and not just on paper is pretty neat too. :D

Littlest H's new snubbin post. Not sure who snubbed who?

Without Dad and My Dad-in-law I'd a still been branding. Thanks for the great help men! :D My Dad even roped a couple. At 70 he could still kick my butt. Two fine men who have the poor luck to have to claim me as a relative.

Lettin' the smoke out of another one.

Littlest H wanted to drag calves pretty bad. His time will get here plenty quick enough. (too quick for his Dad) In he meantime we let him rope his cousins. Looks like he picked a big one!

After the excitement we had to eat! My sweet wife set a table filled with baked beans, fresh fruit, sloppy joes and lots of other tasty fixin's. Mom and Mom-in-law sure helped a bunch too. Thanks Ladies!!! I have more blessings than can be counted! It had rained all night for the last two nights. So much moisture I can't haul cows to the ranch. :D So we'll have to make a trip to town with some cull cows for a neighbor and stop at Burn's Saddlery in Salina, Utah to drool over the merchandise!   Ya'll enjoy your day!

Well that fine set of pictures just added a lot of enjoyment to my day! Once again, a great family you have there.

But I beg to differ on one of your comments. You said that without Dad'n'Dadinlaw's help you'd still be branding. Well I'll lay dollars to dimes that without their help you'd still be on the couch thinkin about getting at it!

Hahaha.

Good pictures and I really like that brand. How long
has it been in your family? Amazing that it's just one letter.
Ours is C hanging C on right hip.

Thanks for sharing.

H in my opinion if you are not proud of your brand then you either need to change jobs or change your brand  . A brand where I come from is something that you are proud of regardless of what it look likes. Besides H I bet you can read your brand a mile away. Keep your brand simple thats my opinion.

That knife/pliers holster is a life saver. Where we run cows on the mountain, I can't count the times I've fixed a fence or a trough or a bridle with my knife or pliers. As far as the farmer comment Justin............ Thanks! :D But I don't own anywhere near enough ground or equipment to be a farmer. :D
