What I am seeing are the trees dieing. Yes, whole hill sides of hardwoods are brown. I also notice that under most of the smaller bridiges I was under the streams have dried up and just dust. All the pastures are dead and brown. Cows are up in the hot sun in the middle of the day trying to get enough to eat. I know several cattle farmers are having water meters instaled to water cattle in pastures that have had cattle on them for over a 100 years with flowing streams. There may not be any cattle left in alabama by spring. I suspect that when people try to find hay this fall thay wil just sell out and not pay the price for hay.
