I spent the day today looking at bulls and watching the Big Dry Angus Sale...The McRae family from Jordan Montana had a great sale averaging $3008 on 65 bulls- and these bulls all went to ranch's- not behind scenes swaps between breeders- with the top bull selling (according to my recordkeeping) to the Sieben Ranch for $4500- and only a couple of bulls selling down around the $2000 price....Most were about in the $3000 range across the board......
They have a following of ranchers- that have bought their bulls for years, with it seems a few new ones each year.....
Fantastic pen of quiet bulls- in great shape- and not a hot one during the whole sale even with all the jostling around in the yard....And then as normal Brent and Hillari held a great hospitality room for all their followers- where I got to talk with a lot of old south of the Missouri River friends that are here every year......
While Brent runs a different phenotype angus cow than I personally prefer (and we've agreed to disagree on  )- one sire he has and his calves really caught my eye- and that is B D A R Boomerang P035 #14953937- a Leachman Boom Time son with RR 9440 Scotch Cap 1483 as mgs, who's sons just looked like meat machines with great fleshing ability.... This was a home raised sire that looks to me like he may be heard of in the future....
