My sympathies and prayers go out to those involved. The devastation there is beyond comprehension...... and we all complain about a little snow.

Isn't that Pacific Tectonic Plate that has been causing so much quake, volcano, and tsunami problems lately (New Zealand, Malaysia, now Japan) also the same plate that runs up along the Alaskan coast and down thru California- and bumps into the North American plate at the San Andreas Fault??

Makes you wonder-- if its doing all that shaking and moving on the west side of the plate- when it will start in on the east side... :???:

That's sure what they said on Fox News this morning, the fault goes
rright where you sait, OT. And that we were OVERDUE for a quake there.
There have been 40 in the last 1000 years, that's an average of 250/year and it's been 311 years since the last big one...

I wondered about that big quake in Alaska...

They also said that Japan deals with quakes all the time, they are
prepared for it. And that we aren't. But what made this so bad
was the Tsumani following the quake.

Someone on the program asked about looting and it was said that
Japan is a very disciplined people and that there was no looting.

Where did America go wrong?

I would guess that Montana is safe from a Tsunami.
