The Democrat governor of Mass. came out today and supported Ted Kennedy's last request to set aside Ted Kennedy's pushed for legistation to hold an election to fill a vacant Senate seat. I guess Mitt Romney couldn't be trusted to appoint someone to fill Kerry's seat but now that it is a Democrat Governor the rules can be set aside.

Dems play by their own rules and when their rules don't fit they CHANGE them that is CHANGE you can believe in.

You didn't expect the folks who cried "foul" last time to cry "foul" this time did you Tam? :D

Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick announced at a press conference this afternoon that the special election to replace Ted Kennedy will be held on January 19, 2010.

A primary, which could be more important in the Democratic-leaning state, is expected to be held on December 8.

Under a state law passed in 2004, Patrick had to pick a time for a special election between 145 and 160 days after the vacancy.

The law was passed to prevent then-Republican Gov. Mitt Romney from appointing a successor to Sen. John Kerry had he won the presidency. But now, with a Democratic governor, there is a movement afoot, sparked by a letter Kennedy himself sent a week before he died, to allow Patrick to appoint a successor to serve in the interim before the special election.

In his press conference today, Patrick supported changing the law, and Massachusetts legislators have scheduled a public hearing on Sept. 9 to discuss it.

There should be no hearing they made the rule to limit the Republican Governor now they should have to LIVE WITH THEIR RULE.

Actually putting those leftist radical commies in total control is the best thing going. The whole world sees they are nothing but a bunch of lip service folks with their hands out.

I say let them keep digging that ditch they're in deeper and deeper.

"Greedy" innovators such as Edison, Einstein, Gates, or Ford will come along under republican control in the future. It will no longer be shameful to work for a living and invest for profit.

In the mean time the whole world is getting sick to death of this garbage and lip service with no real actions.
