I woke at about 3:30 am to the sound of lightenin strikin a near by tree somewhere to the east of the house. The dogs went to makin racket and havin fits. Rain was pourin down offa the roof so fast it looked like a waterfall. I don't know how much we got, but it was alot all in a short time.
Was beginnin to wonder if we were gonna get any outta this rain system movin across Texas. Most was to the North and West from what the radar showed over the past couple days, but that's ok them folks needed rain way more than we did.

We have a friend who trains barrell horses at Aubrey, Texas. He is coming for a visit for a week and he said they got 10" of rain. They were very dry up to then, so he's a happy camper.

I hope Haymaker got some rain as well.

10 inches of rain this weekend? Hope most of it soaked in. Bet his stock tanks are all full now too. We could use somemore to help fill the tanks, but they aren't too low, but it's nice to start out the year with em full.
Think it's about to clear off now, looks like the sun is gonna shine today, I'll go out and see how much rain we actually did git at the other place in a lil while, as well as here, rain guage here is at the gate, same as the other place. We have too many trees around the house to put a guage up, so I always hafta go to the gate to find out how much.
I"m just happy we got some after all the diskin up pasture I done, now that grass can come on and grow!!!

Went out this afternoon and took some pictures of the water that we got last night. 1 9/10 inches out on the place, and almost 3 inches here at the house.

Stray goose, I have no idea what kinda goose it is, but we've never had one in the pasture before......wonder if he got lost durin the storm.

This was the view out my windshield as I drove thru the pasture.

Courtesy of Mr. Lilly, he stuck my camera out the window as I was drivin thru the water standin in the pasture. All I could say was...don't drop my camera!!!!! This is the reason for the Toyota 4x4, it'll go anywhere, even when there's water standin, it's light and don't git stuck, where a big truck would bog to the axels.

Yesterday when I drove thru the creek it was dry. Now it's about 7 ft deep.

I just knew she was gonna make a mis-step and go in.......I told her I wasn't fishin her out either if she fell in.
