Someone here was running oil in their diesel engines or making it into biodiesel. How well is it working? A friend of mine has been running strait used cooking oil for about 7000 miles so far with no troubles. He has to start it on diesel and run it till the engine heats up . He has a radiator core much like a heater core that heats the vegetable oil up where it's thin enough to inject. Other than that he has made no modifications to the engine or truck. I'd sure like to not by oil from those backwards , rag head, q-tip , gentlemen.

Funny thing is...they've decided to make all the state vehicles run on other forms of fuel. Every state vechcle no matter the size or use will have to be at 70% biofuel by this time next year. All of them except the trooper's cars.
What I want to knw is...if this other fuel is sooooo good, why are the cop cars exempt. Sure makes me wonder.

Cert, what is the availibility of those fuels in Ohio? If I had a gas car and wanted to run E-85 that is fine and dandy out here because there are 2 stations within 20 minutes from here that sell the stuff. When I am around Chicago I have yet to see a station that sold it and as of 2 years back there were only 10 or so stations in Illinois..

I thought Katrinas was Canola oil... But than again, my memory is shot.

How does he do it?
I know he don't just pore it in the fule tank and head out.

We extrude sunflowers....... Our biggest hitch is straining the oil clean enough to burn..... We use it in our Ford and it runs as well as diesel. And the emmissions is not like diesel at all. It's way cleaner...... We are sold and all we need to do is do more... A time thing or priority thingy....

How do you extrude the oil? Do you have an extruder or do you take it somewhere? How much oil do you get from a bushel? Come on Katrina, cough up the details.

There are quite a few here. But most are closer to the big cities. I think there are Super America stations that sell E85 all across the state.

They just broke ground for an ethonal plant in Coshocton, Oh. Not too far from here. Still trying to get into contact with the right person to get in on the hauling of corn into the plant. Steady work for the trucks. LOL

All my vehicles are too old to convert now. The old 7.3 will puke if I stress it anymore. It was a big deal to have to quite funning red fuel thru the old girl.

I have an Ethanol plant going up 3 miles from here via road. Another two in plans for 20 miles away and another in construction (Well, it was suppossed to start last month) about 40 miles away. They are popping up everywhere. Lot of Distillers grain is going to be available for use and a lot of little grain elevators are being bought up.. Imagine..

It has a diesel one stroke engine and you pour your sunflowers into the hopper and it squeezes the oil out into a bucket.. Done deal.. Then you strain the impurities out of the oil. You add some stabilizer and I think a little gas and whaalaa biodiesiel.... We run it in our 7.3 and she purrs right along...

General Description
ZS1125G diesel engine is the single cylinder, horizontal, 4 stroke, direct injection and water evaporative cooling diesel engine. Base on the rich experience of current single cylonder diesel engine, introducing foreign advanced technology, our company has produced the newest high powered diesel engine with large cylinder diameter. Satisfy the customers' needs.
Model 6YL-80 screw type oil press.
When oil press is operating, prepareed material enters the extruding chamber the hopper and then moves forwards by the rotating pressing screw and is pressed. Under the high-pressure condition on the chamber, friction between matrial and screw, between material and chamber will created, wich also creates friction and relative movement among material particles. On the other hand, root diameter of the pressing screw varies larger from one end to the other. Hence when rotatong, it not only pushes particles moving forwards but turns them outwards as well. Meanwhile. particles adjacent the screw will rotate along with screw's rotating causing every particle inside the chamber to possess different speed. Therefore, relative movement among particles creates heat which is necessary during manufacfturing because of helping protein change property, damage colloid, increase plasticity, decrease oil's elasticity, resulting in high oil productivity.....
Any questions?????

There are several biodiesel recipes..Some you have to add lye and wash it several times. We have chosen not to wash it and add additives instead..It's quicker and you need less equipment... Google biodiesel or go on ebay, there is lots of information out there for you to learn.....
