The swans arrived on tuesday...they only stop over for awhile on their way to wherever it is they go. Wish they'd stay here!

Yes Nicky, thx for the first signs of spring :) We don't have the swans yet,for that matter there hasn't been a crow yet. We're supposedly getting snow in the next couple days so a crow better show up TODAY,so we can start the three snows on a crows back before Spring countdown :D

:D Accourding to the 'OLD TIMERS" there has to be 3 snows on a crows back before we can actually say we're in Spring, wierd it seems to be true

Might be awhile then- I haven't even seen a crow yet...Lots of geese- but no crows...I had a big old bald eagle sitting in the tree right by the feedground this morning-- I suppose he's getting afterbirths and any pheasant that comes out to pick thru the cows leavings....

Never heard the Crow saying but I go by when the frogs first start croaking--- only 3 more freezes. Heard the frogs last week--so spring is close.

We have 3 swans that each year stop by for a few days,,,I saw them thursday way out on the lake,,they are very camera shy...so I haven't been able to get a good shot yet...hopefully i can before they leave...I'm like you Nicky,,i wish they'd stay,,they're so beautiful. We are in a big migrating pattern for the geese,,,we've had so many geese this last week that you can hardly hear yourself think! Today though the majority of them took off again, leaving the few pairs that stay and nest...awww peaceful again...lol

Nicky....

So nice. We don't get swans here  but also are in the Jassy's geese fly way. They are definitely on the move, both snows and Canadians. I think the only time I've ever seen swans live (in the wild) was on a pond/lake in Soapweeds country, and I think in the late fall, if I remember correctly. They were definitely beautiful.

Thanks again Nicky for sharing.

I remember when ranchers.net/Macon switched over from the former format to this one. You'd thunk there was gonna be a mass revolt. But just think of all we were missing without being able to post pictures. A perfect example that progress is not always bad!!!!

Cheers---

TTB

Here are some more blooms!

Little violets, boy do they smell good!

The flower book calls these 'Grass Widows'...but there has to be a better name. What do you all call them? They are some of my favorites (of course whichever one I happen to be looking at at the time is my favorite :D )
