Bit of a mess

Got a good bit of ice over the last day or two. Lots of power lines down but they have it back on just west of us again. Fence wires were 1" thick when I checked the cows this AM.

Nice to have a generator on hand even though it sits idle most of the time. We're spoiled. Internet just came back on.

Gonna be busy cleaning up the tree limbs that are in the back yard - snapped off up to 8" limbs.

Sure does show how dependent we've become on the "system". Still a huge area out of power today. And after hauling gas to our little generator all day yesterday, I also find out just how cheap our electricity bill is every month!

The concession next to ours has power this morning so hopefully we're up and running again soon. Lots of tree damage, the back yard kinda looks like it got bombed.

Drove 50 miles to the east yesterday and had 3 detours around sections of highway that had power lines down on them. One highway nearby had 30 poles down in one row, and another with 26. Takes a bit of fixing.

Purecountry, not sure why anyone would move back to Ontario . . . :???:

Certainly shows how helpless we are when mother nature decides. Good to hear you seem to have "weathered the strom", Burnt.
