This isn't a joke folks - it has happened to my laptop.
Immediately go to the BitDefender expert module (right click on the red globe icon and select "show") and permanately disable the "anti-virus" module.
DO NOT shut down your computers until you read the quidance issued by BitDefender.

I'm leaving my computer on until the dust settles and there is some organized information or contact with tech support. I was able to restore over 10,000 quarantined files (all operating system files) except two and I can't get those two little buggers !!!
