The snow was deeper today
Even on their backs
String of hay
Here was my blue moment. I had loaded two bales of hay and pulled through the stackyard gate. As I got out to shut it, I slipped on a frozen cow chip. Unknowingly at the time, when I caught myself on the door, the electric door lock was pressed. When I tried to open the door of the running pickup to get back inside---I couldn't.

The temperature was about on the zero mark, and the wind was blowing. Fortunately I had on a heavy coat with a liner, my chaps, warm gloves with liners, and a cap with earflaps. Real fortunately I also had my cell phone.

I gave my welding shop son a call, and about thirty minutes later he and a friend showed up. With proper tools and expertise, in mere moment they got the lock up so I could get in. It was a good lesson. A guy should always have a spare key hidden somewhere on his feeding pickup.

The spot where I marched in place, to keep my feet warm.
