Is that why your cult group R-calf is back in court trying to block things again OT?

We don't like the USDA changing the rules designed to protect us at the request of big money. quote]
Under NAFTA thats actually illegal and your government can get sued for it. Actually come to think of it a group of Canadian Cattlemen were or are doing just that.
But you are supposed to be treating us fairly and not making laws to give yourself an edge.

CCFT members are exercising their rights under NAFTA Chapter 11 to claim damages when another NAFTA Government takes actions that give an unfair advantage to its own investors in the North American Free Trade Area. The CCFT hopes the action will encourage the U.S.

To bad they could not sue rcalf directly.

The beef is there- Its just that enough of it is not labeled-- yet.....

Can you explain these numbers to us if you think there is enough beef in the US.

2001 the US imported $2,714,382,000 of Beef and veal while your exports were open. Then in 2005 while your exports were shut down the US imported $3,658,103,000. that is an increase of $943,721,000 in 5 years again while you had no exports to speak of. AND there has been another 4.23% increase in the imports in 2006 The only reason that number was not higher is because Canada took a 19.82% decease in beef in 2006 while was off set by the 230% increase in live cattle. But Australia had a 70.2% increase, Brazil had a 53.8% increase and Mexico had a 47.77% increase export to the US. So tell us again how there is enough US beef for the domestic markets Oldtimer. The US imports tell a different story.

Canada produces 3 times the amount of beef they can consume- but yet you are importing beef from the US, Australia, Uruguay etc. etc....

Being able to produce has nothing to do with the Packer shell game they play on consumers......

Yes we do import beef. But if you look at the imports into Canada while we had no exports I doubt you will see an 25 to 30% increase as we saw happen in the US.
When BSE hit Canada we asked why we were still importing and it was explained to us that we had WTO obligations so cutting all imports was not an option. But our government did cut any addition permits on importing beef over and above those WTO obligations. Which lead to a decline in imported beef not and increase like in the US.

You should have needed less beef if you had no exports but yet you imported more after your bans than you did before them. So I ask again if you have enough why did the USDA allow so much more beef in if you didn't need it? Are they stock piling it for future use?
