Obama A, "I happen to be a proponent of a single payer universal healthcare program".

Obama B, "Nobody is talking about some goverment takeover of healthcare"

Obama A, "I don't think that we'll be able to eliminate employee coverage immediately. There's going to be potentially some transistion process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out.

Obama B, "Let me address an illigitimate concern that is being put forward by those that are claiming a public option is somehow a Trojan Horse for a single-payer system"

Look at the bright side, this is like having two presidents. Obama and both of his faces. It is just to bad that both faces are bad. Lose/lose.

If there's ever a new Batman movie, Obama can play Two Face!

Let me ask the Obama supporters here, OT, Alice, Reader, Badaze, Nono.... ;

How can you believe anything this man says regarding what he wants, what his plan will do/will not do, etc....?

Maybe I'm just not understanding this. Seems to me that Pinnociobama is telling one group of people that his plan won't lead to a single-payer system (illigitimate concern), and he's giving another group a timetable for exactly that.

Is that what is happening, Reader? OT, can you help me out? What do you think, Badaze, is that what is happening here?

I watched the O'Reilly Factor tonight and they had a video of
Obama saying AARP endorsed his health care reform; but
they had an AARP spokesman on last night that said they
hadn't endorsed anything yet.

OOPS, Obama...caught in another lie...

Maybe he just "mispoke" again.

I notice Reader and OT are posting on other threads, but avoiding this one. Wassup, home dogs?

Why doesn't he release his birth certificate?

Are these the actions of an innocent man?

(thought I would save Sandy the trouble)

You just went off on tangents. Tell me, OT or Badaxe, is Obamacare going to result in singlepay and eliminate employer coverage or not?

OT, I got to agree with you...but because I don't think there will be a bill passed. If it is, there will be wholesale house cleaning in Congress next election. I think Obama has already sealed his fate as a one term President.

But this isn't relevant to the original question...
Why does Obama say one thing to his supporters and another thing to the general public? If the man have principles that govern his actions, why does he have to hide them to the general public? Would you, as a sheriff, consider a person a good witness if they give you two different versions of the same event? This all goes to Obama's creditability...does he have any? OT, I know it is difficult to admit you have been duped.

Sandhusker, I know you know the answer to your question...the truth is what ever Obama is saying at the time he is saying it.

RobertMac- under the context he said it- during the campaign- I have no problem with his credibilty...Its no secret that Obama- and several of the Liberals in D.C. (Frank and Sanders are two spokesmen that come to mind) want a single payer system...He said from day one, when he began the campaign- nothing was written in stone- and nothing was off the table...But he knows the support for single payer isn't there...
And folks are so scared of it- that is the reason the Baucus/Grassley bill will not even include a government plan option (which could be a mistake imho- because without some real threat- I don't think the monoply power the insurance companies have built in the past 10 years can be busted)...

I do think a compromise bill will pass...It will NOT be single payer- but after listening to so many of the Republicans and conservatives that agree something has to be done on health care-how tied it is to the recovery and the future of our economy- I think they will merge the bills into one final bill that will pass...

Senator Hatch has said several times "Doing Nothing Is No Longer an Option"...

It may be more Liberal than most on here like- and than I like--but you have to remember this problem has been building for 30 years--and Repubs controlled Congress for 14 years- and GW ran on his number one promise being health care reform- and together they did NOTHING....

So the folks at home screamed foul and booted a bunch of them...

Again it was the number one voters issue- and I think since the Repubs dropped the ball so badly- its time to give the Dems a free shot at getting us health care reform....

The Dems are taking that free shot. They are offering massive permanent solutions to a few temporary problems.

It is all going to be hung up for the next four years.

We should all be thankful for those in there with common sense.
