If you take US 287 from Ft Collins to Laramie, you will see a lot of good country. It is about the same as going on I-25 to Cheyenne and then west.

287 is a good road and won't delay you.

Our nephew builds performance engines for cars in Rock Springs.
PM me if you want to stop and say hi to them. They are a very
nice family. He races cars as well. He is half Basque as his mother
was all Basque. Interesting people.

If you are going through Casper, and hungry for an unbeleivable down home cooked BBQ, go to "Freds Barbeque"

Its on the West end of town, just off Yellowtone hwy, on Natrona avenue Between Oregon trail Road and Poison Spider Road. 307-577-1600

If you get a chance you should take the Snowy Range road between Laramie and Encampment and back to I80 near Rawlins can"t think of the name of the junction offhand but that drive is priceless and won't add much more than an hour to your drive.

I'm flying from Salt Lake City to Seattle - it was so cheap to fly and I just didn't have time to see all my friends and drive those 800 miles by myself.

But I bought great books on Montana, Wyoming, Washington State, New Mexico, Arizona, and Colorado. I am so ready to go on a really long road trip but think I'll wait until I have someone who wants to do one with me.

Might get to do a bit more when I go to Calgary.
When will you be in CalgarY?

I may go to Calgary in April - I know it's early but I am taking my mom on a cruise for her 80th b'day May 18 - June 1 so I can't really go in May or June. Perhaps I could go to Calgary on my way to or from Prince Edward Island next year in mid summer. After taking 2 months off, I need to get back to work and work steadily until the cruise
Sounds like you've planned a very special party for a very special lady. It is wonderful she is still able to get around and enjoy travel.
