Not very glamorous but the big bunch is done. Four of us got them across the cradle before dark. All but two hours acted rainy, but it never got wet where we were. Calves sure get big in 7 weeks. Nice to see winters effort amount to something. I'm not talking percentage anymore, intertoximia took its toll...
 
A cheap blackleg vaccine on your cows annually, pre calving will slow a lot of that down.

Our difficulties with enterotoxemia are nearly gone now.
 
I appreciate the suggestions, and they will be researched in our case. This is the first year we've gotten bit this way. Every year is a new challenge. The spring ranch needs to have some water and fencing improvement and we can trim this issue by 75 percent. Those 3 big calves just scratched 5 percent death loss, I'm sure not complaining. We lost no calves April 20th in this group.
