What was the reason for selling in Martin Soap? Not that it's a good place to market.. Just curious.... I know some ranches are changing barns..

Soapweed said:At Valentine yesterday, our Angus bred heifers averaged 942 pounds and brought $980. One buyer took all 98 head. We were planning to take 110 head to the sale, but ten looked to be bred early by my friend's short-aged bull calf that mistakenly ended up spending time with the heifers. :roll: We ended up taking 100 head. One turned up empty, and she weighed 955 and sold for $78.50 per cwt ($749.67). Another heifer walked a bit gimpy from hauling. They wondered if I wanted to take her back home, but since we didn't have a trailer along she sold for $800 as a bred heifer. At least maybe now the hay won't go quite so fast. :wink:
