Broke to lead?

I have no problem in breaking them to lead - - - - I just wondered if anyone else does this.

I find with a just weaned ( about 6 months ) up to one year old bull I put them in the chute and put the halter on. Tie the animal where he can lay down with the rope tied thru an iner tube. They will fight the tube but if they move forward the pressure is released. After a couple of hours I put a rope over their rump and lead them to water. After they drink I lead them back to food. Two or three times a day for two or three days and they look forward to me picking up their lead rope. This is done in a pen about 25' X 50' and they will quickly move away from the pressure on the rump rope toward the slack in the lead rope.

I want all cattle to give me about 10 feet as I walk thru - - - they do not get petted but I want to be able to walk up with in that 10' area and throw a loop over the bull and lead him off without a fight.

At times it might be nice to be able to work a cow this way but I have never taken the time to mess with the cows.
