That video of Milton you posted a while back about immigration and our welfare state got me to thinking about welfare and narcotics.
With welfare, the war on drugs may be justified to some extent. But, if we lived in a welfare FREE society, I'd be for flooding the market with legal marijuana, cocaine and morphine.
Find it at every Walgreen's and mom and pop pharmacy in town that wanted to carry it.
People are going to do drugs that want to do drugs. But if they have to work to eat, they wouldn't be able to sit around all day, get a free house and food on the table and become bored because they have nothing to do. It wouldn't eliminate all, but it would cut it down immensely.
You want to cut the Mexican cartels' throats? Make shipping narcotics unprofitable. Gangs wouldn't be fighting over turf to sell drugs on.
Some people would die from there poor decisions like they are today. That being their freedom to choose. But I think many would be working and not have the time or means to waste on drugs.
How many trillions do we spend on the DEA, locking up dealers and gang bangers involved in drug related crimes?
How many people in possession?
How many people are permanently disabled by knock off/synthetic poisons made to get around outlawed chemical structures?
Free market would likely kill most of this synthetic crap and all it's causing.
Cut the welfare and I bet less kids would have time to sit around and learn how to commit felonies from one another, because they might just be at a job earning money to help put food on the table.
