Senator: Democrats 'baffled' by president's health care stance
Posted: 10:46 PM ET

From CNN Senior Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash

WASHINGTON (CNN) – As the prospects for passing health reform by the time Congress leaves for its August recess look bleaker, Democratic grumbling about President Obama is growing louder. One Democratic senator tells CNN congressional Democrats are “baffled,” and another senior Democratic source tells CNN members of the president’s own party are still “frustrated” that they’re not getting more specific direction from him on health care. “We appreciate the rhetoric and his willingness to ratchet up the pressure but what most Democrats on the Hill are looking for is for the president to weigh in and make decisions on outstanding issues. Instead of sending out his people and saying the president isn’t ruling anything out, members would like a little bit of clarity on what he would support – especially on how to pay for his health reform bill,” a senior Democratic congressional source tells CNN. The Democratic leadership had hoped the work going on behind closed doors for months could bear fruit in time for the president’s news conference Wednesday night. But multiple Democratic sources tell CNN that’s looking very unlikely, and one senior Democratic source tells CNN there is some frustration among Democratic leaders that Senate negotiators have, "repeatedly missed deadlines."

The hell with those that are bothered. I have read many a post here by the liberals that called Bush everything from King George to a Bumbling Idiot, and almost everything in between. They showed absolutely no respect for the Presidency, and neither will I.

Maybe I should refrain because of the detriment caused to the real "Buckwheat" (William Thomas) family but I won't.

When you start playing the game by the liberal rules, you have already lost. I won't be enticed in to their "Thought" control voodoo.

Let me ask, maybe Eddie Murphy was being racist when he played Buckwheat on Saturday Night Live?

No ma'am. Sorry, but I won't. I take that back. I'm NOT sorry.

I am not playing by their rules. I am tired of the name calling. BY BOTH sides.
This is a place to debate the FACTS. Let the children use name calling in the school yard.
It has gotten where every other post is someone telling another to get mental help, accuse them of drinking, asking about thier profession, telling them what their iq is, ect.
Keep this about facts and dont give the other side a reason to dismiss what you say based on making it personal and not factual.

You say to hail with me...fine, but as for me I have facts on my side and will not stoop into the mud and lose any credibilty or allow them to dismiss me.

Mike,

I am simply going to ask you to be a bigger person than they are.

Yes I totally understand your point too. Tina Fey can imitate and be little and it is all funny. If someone black imitates Obama they get hundreds of threats. Nothing is funny to them then. You are absolutely correct and it is not an even playing field.

There are other examples too.

Whatever you choose is up to you.

Why not just ask him to stop as it is disrespectful to the leadership postion of your country..At the same time stop comming up with comedians that disrespect themselfs and others,as a reason for your shameful comments......The postion of president is not nor should be compared to the set of SNL..

PS call eddie murphy buckwheat if you like, just show more respect for your country ...

BHB,Just because one women calls herself fat ,i would not say calling the rest of the women you meet fat,a good reason .

Obama not only disrespects the office of President by his usurping that office, he disrespects the entire nation. I was taught that you get what you give.

Then you were taught to disrespect your country..Just because you do not like the guy in the chair, does not mean you turn your back on what the postion means to your country...You may need a lesson on loyalty sandhusker,as you sell out your own countrymen on a daily basis..

You've got it backwards, nono, the reason I loathe Obama is BECAUSE I respect my country. It's not so much that I don't like the lying socilist, it's because he doesn't belong there and he knows it. Where's the cert?

Mike and I pretty much feel the same way about a whole lot of issues.

I have asked all I intend to ask of him.

I did ask.

I did not send any death threats to Tina Fey either :D

It seems that some can dish out a whole lot and take nothing.

I should hope not..do you mean because she impersonated Palin?

It seems that some can dish out a whole lot and take nothing.

Both sides? That means I need to be really careful because I don't want to be standing next to you. Your attitude is expressed quite well in your replies. Not much better through all this time either. You have your man in the whitehouse and you are still just as miserable as you always have been.

I actually thought her portrayal of Palin was funny.. not sure why everyone gets so bent out of shape by humor.. some people are easier to make fun of and some can do so in a manner that is not overly disrespectful.. but I am sure to Palin it wasn't amusing..

Yes it was funny.

What I am referring to are the death threats to Obama impersonators. Whites with make up cannot be impersonators and PC. Blacks comedians can't be either because of the death threats.
