According to a new Gallup poll released Friday, a majority of Americans support the proposed Buffett Rule, which would require individuals earning $1 million or more per year to pay at least 30 percent of their income in taxes.

The survey found that 60 percent of adults support enacting such a policy, while 37 percent oppose it.

By significant margins, both independents (63 to 33 percent) and Democrats (74 to 24 percent) supported the measure, a key Obama campaign issue. Republicans opposed it, but by a smaller margin of 54 to 43 percent.

The Gallup survey was conducted April 9 to 12 among 1,016 adults and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

I had a buddy that worked with test results and he said that tests were useless. He said he could make a test tell whatever he wanted it to by gleaning what he wanted and emphasizing those point. He said surveys were the same thing and even worse because the way suveys can be worded. He said living by polls were for idiots.

it sure takes the incentive out of working hard if you have to write a check for $300,000

but maybe a liberal could answer this..

if I sold land, property or a business I had worked for and built up over a lifetime of scraping by with money I had already been taxed on.. why should I be hit with such a large penalty?

It sure takes a lot of courage on obama's part to suggest a policy that has already been implemented.

The top 1% were already paying 30%, when obama took over

I wonder if the pollsters told those they were polling that most small businesses that employ a very large sector of the population would be included in that tax hike? Most people think that the tax hike would only effect those like it's name sake, Billionaire Buffet but that is not true. They forget that most SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS would be included and those like Buffet have the ability to pay accountants to get them out of paying any taxes. If Buffet wanted to paid more in Taxes he would not be suing the IRS to get out of paying HIS FAIR SHARE, he would just write the damn check and save the legal fees.

If anyone wants to see what HIGH TAXES do to an economy all they have to do is look at California and New York both states have financial problems and still believe raising taxes is going to fix their problem which only sends more businesses out of their states to other areas in the nation that are more business friendly.

You could word a poll just so-so and sex between a Japanese midget with one blue eye and o e red eye and a Brahman yak cross on the courthouse square at 11 a m on Sunday morning would get a 50.01 percent approval rating.
In other words "who gives a ****"
