Another Bush Buddy arrested. He was even nominated as a Federal Judge..twice! Link to full article below. This bunch is unbelievable.

A former domestic policy adviser to President Bush has been charged with theft for allegedly receiving phony refunds at department stores.
Claude Alexander Allen, 45, was arrested Thursday by Montgomery County police for allegedly claiming refunds for more than $5,000 worth of merchandise he did not buy, according to county and federal authorities.
Allen was the No. 2 official in the Health and Human Services Department when Bush nominated him in April 2003 to the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Richmond, Va. Bush nominated to the court again a year later, but Allen never received a Senate vote

This guy either has an honesty problem or a klepto problem. I think it's the former from what I read. He was making money by bringing in receipts, taking the same clothes off the rack that he had just purchased and pretending to return them to get cash refunds.

In any case, dishonesty and/or emotional problems, are not limited to one political party and his issues do not reflect on Bush in my opinion.

Regardless of my other opinions about this administration.

You've been around Washington for a while, R2? Can you tell me of any other Administration that had so many people closely allied with them arrested, charged, or under official investigation by various law enforcement groups?

Thats nine I can come up with right off the top of my head, and that doesn't include Rick Santorum (R-PA) because I'm not sure of his "official" investigation status. And the Abramoff thing is just getting started.

A recent poll paid for by the Republican group, Club for Growth, asked "What are the first two words you associate with the Republican Congress?" The answers were ‘Iraq’ and ‘corruption.’ Remember the old saw: "When a fish starts to rot, it starts at the head"? The head of the Republican party is the White House.

I wouldn't bet your list is accurate, Dis, because I see an error right off the bat. I'm not telling you what it is, of course, because you already know more than anyone.

reader 2-- Have you heard any stories about Gale Norton? I had not heard of her being involved with Abramoff- but when I saw the article about her resignation (which appears to be at rather an odd time) on FOX news they were tying her to several Abramoff connections :???:

She was one of GW's original appointments that I liked....
