Buy American?

andybob, not that I've seen on an official or structured scale. More localized promotion by local groups to buy local, not simply USA produced, in order to cut transport costs, etc. And to eat only foods that are in season, which might get quite boring in some parts of the USA!

Nice idea in theory, but trade is a fact of life, and most people do like foods from other nations.........pineapple, coconut, coffee.......and so many more!

Politicization of food is going to hurt more people than it helps, IMO.

The concept here is that products not grown here are imported (citrus fruit etc) but local products are not unfairly undercut by cheap imports, the idea of not importing out of season is also considered a non-starter by consumers who feel as you (and I) do, that it would quickly get very boring!
When it comes to 'foriegn' cars, Honda and BMW are manufactured locally, while most Landrover are from Germany.

Isn't Landrover a British institution kinda like Rolls Royce? The world is completely askew!

BMW bought out Landrover and Austin (mini), Jaguar belongs to the Japanese, and I can't remember who bought Rolls Royce, I think that is now German as well.

I had a 1964 Austin Healy Mk4. It was a real car not to be duplicated here in North America.
