Dad had one a few years back. I think I remember at the time looking on the net and finding at least one cause for a SR calf is eating pig weed.

I haven't heard that yet. We had a battle with pig weed last year though. I'll check into it. Thanks.

Both the cows we had the problem with had a small percentage holstein in them- and the Vet said while it shows up in 1 in 10,000 or 100,000 or some extra big numbers--they saw it more prevalently in dairy cattle....

Lupine ingestions can cause abortions or SR calves. I had two of them one year in 28 head of bred cows.

My dad just had a calf like that a few weeks ago, cow had ikt on her own, but still inside out.
